NABU

Mission
To comprehensively promote the building of a stable financial system of Ukraine, to address the tasks and problems of the banking system in order to increase business profitability and develop the national economy.
Vision
The Independent Association of Ukrainian Banks is a powerful and effective representative of the banking system, a reliable partner for state authorities and administration.
In their work, the association's members contribute to the development of the banking system, whose highest quality is recognized as its stability, based on the reliability of each of its components, and the success of each bank depends on the success of the entire system.
Only the harmonious development of the entire system can ensure sustainable shared growth.
Each bank, regardless of its size, form of ownership, and origin of capital, performs its unique function in the banking system. The prioritization of banks' needs cannot be determined depending on their size, form of ownership, and origin of capital.
Healthy competition is the key to the stable development of the banking system. Unfair competition is condemned.
NABU members unite on the basis of the following values:
  • Professionalism. The professionalism and honesty of each banker before the client is the key to the high authority of the entire banking system in Ukraine. The banking community independently creates mechanisms for its maintenance. In its activities, the association uses the experience and knowledge of the best representatives of the banking profession.
  • Responsibility. Large banks are interested in the success of small ones just as small ones are interested in the success of large ones. Banks with foreign capital are interested in the success of banks with Ukrainian capital just as banks with Ukrainian capital are interested in the success of banks with foreign capital. On every issue regarding state regulation of banks' activities (regardless of its impact on the interests of all or only part of the banks), the banking community must have a balanced active position; a passive position is unacceptable.
  • Equality. Any restrictions on the activities of banks in Ukraine must be prompted exclusively by national interests and in no case may be introduced in the interests of a particular bank or group of banks.
  • Transparency. In its work, the association is guided by the principles of transparency. It ensures an independent audit of its activities and periodic reporting to its members.
  • Efficiency. In its activities, the association concentrates on the priority tasks facing the banking system. It ensures rotation of leadership, control over the use of resources, and a mechanism for rapid conflict resolution.
